*** Saira's an absolutely phenomenal lecturer. She's very knowledgeable about the tech startup industry and she shows it by sharing a ton of useful strategies throughout the course. She's really approachable too and makes the class / an intimidating industry feel very welcoming with her teaching style & humor. Definitely my favorite class at Cal.

*** She didn't just teach pathways or molecules but she also talked about policy, startups, hospital systems in China and robustly connected it all to what we were learning: I felt like we were getting the future of medicine in real time.

*** I was really struggling and too embarrassed to say anything. She picked up on it and started casually offering to stay late. I didn't even ask. She just noticed. It's the first time a professor made me feel like I belonged in STEM.
*** I took her class because I needed non-major upper divs. I wasn't expecting anything. But she made everything feel connected. We talked about cancer, vaccines, therapeutics, food allergies... She made the science human. Still one of my favorite professors.
